Piano Trends Music to Help Sponsor Chicago in Bloom at WTTW Studios

PIano Trends Music & Band is a proud supporter of WTTW and WFMT in Chicago. Our Crystal Lake Music Store provides pianos and services for many events both in the WTTW and WFMT Chicago Studios and surrounding area events. This year classical musicians Igudesman & Joo will delight with a comedic performance. The Ponce Trio will also perform and the evening will be hosted by actress Kate Micucci.

Once Again Piano Trends will provide Concert Grand Pianos and service for their annual spring gala. This Year Chicago in Bloom will help WTTW and WFMT plant the seeds for lifelong learning and cultural and civic engagement with vibrant content on television, radio and online. Celebrate the mission in full bloom and the joy and delight that our programs bring their audiences everyday. Last year Bernadette Peters was the featured performer. The evening includes a spirited performance by classical musician duo Igudesman & Joo. Violinist Aleksey Igudesman and pianist Hyung-Ki Joo are the inventive comic duo whose hilarious mix of music, pop culture and pure zaniness has won them fans of all ages and cultures worldwide. Highly trained musicians, their inspired silliness can start with Rachmaninoff or Liszt and find its way through martial arts, movie classics, rock, hip hop, folk, heavy metal and disco, step dancing and Monty Python’s Ministry of Silly Walks. But behind all the laughs is the very serious mission of winning new audiences for this art form they both love so much. Explains Igudesman, “We always say that we don’t make fun of the music. We make fun with the music.”

The event will also include a musical appearance by The Ponce Trio, which includes Phil Ponce, Alexandra and John Nichols Chief Correspondent and Host of Chicago Tonight, and his two sons, Anthony and Dan Ponce.

Chicago in Bloom will be hosted by actress, singer-songwriter, comedian, and artist Kate Micucci. Micucci is the voice of Daisy the Bunny in the WTTW and Spiffy Pictures co-production Nature Cat, which follows Fred, the adventurous house cat, as he explores the outdoors.
